Pick up to eight dice with the + and − buttons and tap Roll. Press on the Roll button and flick upward to throw them in a direction.
The circular arrow at the top resets everything to a single d20, no modifier and no advantage.
Modifier
Drag the Modifier slider anywhere from −10 to +10. It's added to the total. The small reset button beside the number puts it back to 0.
Advantage
Check With advantage? under the d20 row. Crit Dice rolls two d20s and keeps the higher. While advantage is on, the d20 row stays at two dice.
Cracked dice
A die that ends up propped on another die is a cracked die. It is rolled again by itself; the others stay where they landed.
Sound
The speaker icon beside the settings gear mutes the clatter. The app plays sound even when your device is in silent mode; use the icon to turn it off. The same switch is in Settings as Clatter.
Colors
Settings (the gear) lets you pick a dice color and a number color, or turn on Random colors to give every die its own. Reset dice colors puts them back.
Roll history
Your recent rolls are listed under Last rolls, with every die's face. Clear empties the list.
Roll20 Safari extension
Crit Dice includes Crit Dice for Roll20, a Safari extension that puts the physics dice on the Roll20 table in Safari on iPad and iPhone and posts each result to the game's chat.
Turn it on
- Open Settings › Apps › Safari › Extensions and turn on Crit Dice for Roll20.
- Open your Roll20 game in Safari. Tap the extensions icon in the address bar and allow Crit Dice for app.roll20.net.
- A dice button appears at the bottom right of the table. Tap it, pick dice and tap Roll. Or type
/roll 1d20+5(or/r) in Roll20's chat and press return.
If something's off
- No dice button? Check that the extension is on in Settings and allowed for app.roll20.net, then reload the game page.
- A roll went to Roll20's own roller. Rolls the extension can't do (d100, macros, more than eight dice) go through Roll20 as usual.
- Do I need a Roll20 account? Roll20 does. The Crit Dice app itself doesn't.
Crit Dice for Roll20 is an independent, fan-made extension. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or supported by Roll20. Roll20 is a trademark of its owner.
